Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with member expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with Genisys.
To ensure that members can rely upon quality service and personal confidentiality, Genisys has established the following privacy policy:
- Genisys will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business. This is information that is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services.
- We collect nonpublic personal information about members from the following sources:
- Information we receive about members verbally, electronically, or in writing from applications and other forms supplied to us by our members and other sources used to verify information a member provides such as name, address, social security number.
- Information about transactions with Genisys, our affiliates, or others.
- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as credit history.
- Genisys will protect our members’ personal information. Genisys will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where necessary, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
- Genisys’ internal confidentiality policy (Employee Code of Conduct) states that employees will not disclose information about the Credit Union, its members, suppliers, or employees during the course of employment, except as permitted by law and this policy.
- Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. Those who violate our Privacy Policy will be subject to discipline.
- We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about members to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing member data.
- We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard member nonpublic personal information and privacy.
- Members of Genisys will have the opportunity to review their information and make necessary changes to ensure that our records are complete and accurate.

- Genisys will only share information with non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.
- Genisys does not and will not sell mailing lists or the financial information of its membership. We do however share certain information in the course of providing and administering the products and services used.
- We will share information with service providers to complete transactions and maintain accounts and related records (such as data processors or check printers). We also share information with select nonaffiliated third parties if requested or authorized; if the information is provided to a consumer reporting agency in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or the disclosure is otherwise required by law. Examples of service providers are financial institutions providing services on our behalf, our data processing vendors, collection companies, statement mailers, check printers or other non-affiliated third party entities as permitted by law.
- We will share information when required to do so by the government (such as disclosures made to the Internal Revenue Service, Credit Union examiners and other authorized governmental agencies).
- The Controls & Alerts App periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information to enable features that prevent fraudulent card use and send alerts, but only if the End User expressly authorizes collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background only while the Solution is being used or not at all, depending on the End User’s selection. End Users can change their location permissions at any time in their device settings.
- We will share information with reputable nonaffiliated third parties to give members access to products they have requested that are not directly offered by Genisys, at an often reduced cost. To protect our members' privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality and limit the use of information we provide to carry out the joint marketing specified. Examples of these service providers include mailing operations providers, insurance companies and other non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.
- If a member terminates their membership with Genisys, Genisys will not share information we have collected about the member, except as permitted or required by law.
- Genisys may collect nonpublic personal information from non-members. We will not share this information except as permitted by law.
- We will disclose our privacy policy to members annually and to new members as they join Genisys.
- We strive to make sure our records contain accurate information. Inaccurate information, when brought to our attention, will be corrected promptly. We will request that personal information be as current as possible so that our members may take advantage of all that Genisys has to offer.
- Genisys is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. In an attempt to assist our members in keeping their information confidential, our website will include guidelines to aid in the protection of their data.
- For online and mobile users we will keep a record of the account for two (2) years after closing. After that period, all personal information will be removed from our system.
