LighthouseThe team at Genisys Credit Union launched a campaign with their employees to raise funds for Lighthouse’s annual Thanks & Giving campaign. The initiative raised enough funds for Lighthouse to purchase 2,300 turkeys for all the families they serve to have a Thanksgiving dinner this year.

“As we begin the holiday season, I am moved by the Genisys team's willingness to give back to our communities,” said Jackie Buchanan, President and CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “Lighthouse is creating change within our neighborhoods by offering support and resources to alleviate poverty. We are grateful to provide assistance in their efforts to do so.”

The team at Genisys raised the funds through an employee match campaign to cover the cost of turkeys which was doubled by Meijer, as part of their Simply Give program, for a grand total of 2,300 turkeys. Meijer started their Simply Give program in 2008 to help food pantries fulfill their mission of feeding those struggling with food insecurity.

"Ensuring every family in our community is able to celebrate with a complete Thanksgiving meal is important to Lighthouse and our supporters,” said Ryan Hertz, Lighthouse President & CEO. “Genisys Credit Union has been our key partner in this effort for a long time now, and this year is no different. We are so grateful for the Genisys team’s generous donations, providing more than 2,000 turkeys for our food boxes.”

The credit union has been proud to make a year-to-date contribution of nearly $200,000 to Lighthouse in order to support their mission of building equitable communities that alleviate poverty.
