On December 9, Genisys Credit Union was awarded the Plante Moran Caring Culture Award at the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce’s Silver & Gold Awards. The award recognizes Genisys for building a company culture that is rooted in caring for their people, members, and communities.
“It is an honor to have received this award as it attests to the contributions of our team members. Their commitment to making the Genisys culture one of caring speaks volumes to the respect they carry for each other,” said Jackie Buchanan, President and CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our team for actively being present in support of one another, our members, and our communities everyday.”
The credit union has implemented various initiatives to ensure the success of their team including: professional development opportunities, recognition programs, flexible work arrangements, 401k matching, low-cost healthcare plans, mental health services, and more. “We believe that the strength of our credit union lies in the well-being and satisfaction of our employees,” said Buchanan.
This support carries into the experience members have with Genisys. With a member satisfaction score of 96%, the credit union understands the value of creating a caring environment for their members. Whether they are helping a first-time home buyer, offering financial solutions, increasing saving power, or simply being a listening ear, the Genisys team is here to best serve your financial needs.
Lastly, the credit union actively engages in community initiatives, supporting local causes and organizations to give back to their neighbors. Annually, they sponsor nearly 1,200 community events and volunteer over 4,000 hours of time. These efforts include working with nonprofit organizations such as Lighthouse and Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency (OLHSA) to pack food boxes and raise funds for heating assistance; partner with the Clinton River Watershed Council to clean up area parks and waterways; support the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Coats for the Cold campaign by using their branches as donation sites; provide financial literacy education to area schools; and much more. By actively engaging with community organizations, the credit union plays an active role in the civic life of their communities, understanding the profound impact of a culture rooted in care.
